How to Build Your First Drum Pattern

How To Create and Add a Pattern To Your Chart.

Select Add Pattern button that is under the song form gird to open the pattern editor. This will open a pattern template.
To edit, select the square edit icon at the bottom right of the editor window.
Select the correct time signature on the left side of the window
Select the blue one or two bar measure button to change the pattern size.
Select the correct notation for each beat such as 16th, 32nd, 16th triplet by clicking on the box above each beat to open a dropdown menu. (The default is 16th notes)
Enter your pattern by selecting the correct circle icon to see notation in the window.
View the list of instruments available and select the correct circle icon to add to your pattern.
Label the pattern with the correct song form in the Pattern Editor window.
Select the green checkmark icon at the top right of the Pattern Editor to close the window
Play pattern to see if it is correct.

Select the blue button at the lower right of the pattern editor to change from viewing one pattern or two patterns in a row.
The patterns will view in groups of 2 – one bar patterns where you can add as many one bar patterns to a chart that will fit on one page.
The patterns will also group in 2 – two bar patterns where you can have 4 two bar patterns at the bottom of your chart that will fit on one page.

To save your patterns to your library, select the copy button in the top right hand side of the pattern editor window to open a text input box labeled Copy Pattern to Pattern Library.
Give your pattern a name and select OK

To see your patterns, select Add Pattern From Library. This will open the My Patterns library. Scroll down the library page to view and select patterns from the Shared Patterns preset library.
Select patterns from your library to add it to your chart.
Scroll down to select patterns from the Shared Patterns library to add to your chart.
Select the Drum Pattern Editor button to customize any pattern from both library’s.
